Wish I’d done this a little bit earlier now. The strategy for change document for Hampshire (along with all the various related paperwork) is a publicly available document hosted on their website here. I wanted to run it through Wordle and try a few other visualisations to try and get a better impression of the direction of the document, think this comes across clearly here. From here I put the same data into Tagcloud to get myself some numbers for each of the key terms. I’ve just quickly used this to do a few Numbers charts, more interesting comparisons would be possible though.

How often are each of the key user groups mentioned?

How often are the different school sectors mentioned?

And finally, using some of the data from the appendix we can arrive at these graphs for progress in various key areas. My next interesting thing to try would be to put the data predictions on to a timeline along with the key dates for the project.

Few more of these in the Flickr set. The important point here is you can use data to show just about anything you like, particularly when it comes to analysing a document like that. Certainly no particular bias in what I display here. For me an interesting exercise though, good for focusing on some of the meaning of a very long document.
